"Cherry-Topped Cheesecake"

Ode to cheesecake - the second of three paintings resulting from my New Year's Eve splurge. Back on Weight Watchers, I can now count down the weeks until I treat myself again, on my birthday. Until then, I live vicariously through art.

Karin...the best of the three. It is not easy to put the subject matter in the middle of the canvas and make it work. Nice warm background to work with the subject matter and great job on that brittle paper. What a treat and a juicy delight in paint. I suggest your patrons in Atlanta start sending you a series of lush desserts to paint. Forget that diet.

I started a blog, inspired with your efforts along with Carols. Let me know what you think when you have time.

Ah ha! I was worried that you had "a cheesecake a day" habit going.

Aloha Karin, They say the average American adult gains 7 lbs over the holidays. I did my part. This slice of heaven looks soooo delicious! I don't usually gravitate toward paintings of food but this one is a winner!

Oh please stop! You are ruining my new year revolution! I am trying to revolt against food a bit...its not working...but your paintings are mouthwateringly lovely.

Karin,
I am starting a 9 week class called "Weight Release through Hypnotherapy" in a couple of weeks. Weight Watchers is the only thing that has really ever worked for me but I can't seem to be consistent.

My wife is always picking on me for munching on chocolate, it never occurred to me to simply make it an art form. Great job on the sweets but I like the rest of your work as well, the You Tube movie is a nice touch too.

I'll certainly visit your world again...

This is the most tempting cheesecake I've ever seen. Love the shadows on the pleated paper. I feel as though I could touch that paper and it would make crinkly noises and leave my fingers with a little touch of cream cheese.

Oh yum...you've created all that sinful high fat goodness in a zero guilt form! This is gorgeous.

You inspire me to pick up my oils and paint instead of eat. :)
